WSOP Opens Friday

The 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is coming on our way. This is the time where both amateurs and pros gather together in Las Vegas. On Friday the most awaited event will take place, and it will give out 57 bracelets. The battle ground for this tournament would be the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.

WSOP will feature top caliber poker talent for the first two days. The yearly $500 Casino Employees No Limit Hold’em tournament will set foot on Friday at Noon PT. At exactly 5:00pm on Friday, the first ever $50,000 Player’s Championship will begin and it will be broadcast at ESPN. Certainly, entrants will be challenge in different games such as at Limit Hold’em, Omaha High-Low Split Eight or Better, Seven Card Razz, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud High-Low Split Eight or Better, No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, and 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball.

This year, the HORSE Championship will regress with a $10,000 buy-in. For Saturday, the first ever six open $1,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em events will start. The Rio Pavilion will expand their previous site with 58,000 square feet for the WSOP. Around the area, the Amazon Room will be the spot for the final tables.

The following are schedule of the Friday’s events:

Friday, May 28th at 12:00pm PT
Event #1: Casino Employees No Limit Hold’em
$500 buy-in

Friday, May 28th at 5:00pm PT
Event #2: The Player’s Championship
$50,000 buy-in

Saturday, May 29th at 12:00pm PT
Event #3: No Limit Hold’em
$1,000 buy-in

Sunday, May 30th at 5:00pm PT
Event #4: Omaha High-Low Split Eight or Better
$1,500 buy-in

The climax or the Main Event will happen on July 5th and will end up on July 17th.
